Susan Boyle? She’s so last week!

I’ve barely caught my breath from last week’s amazing Britain’s Got Talent contest, and now it’s full steam ahead for Big Brother 10. Yes, that’s right the daddy of all reality TV shows has made it to 10 and so my Summer TV viewing is sorted.

With less than 48 hours until Big Brother opens it’s doors again speculation is rife over just what BB has in store for this year’s contestants. Photos of the BB house have been released and over at the brand-spanking-new official site’s forum fans of the show can only guess at who’ll enter the house on Thursday.

But that hasn’t stopped Irish bookie, Paddy Power open markets on which country the winner will come from? Will they be male or female? How many eviction nominations will the eventual winner get? If you can think of it the Paddy Power will probably let you bet on it.

But it’s some of the special bets that really catch the eye.

Think there’ll be a Big Brother Bonk this time around. A £10 at odds of 3/1 will win you £30, plus your £10 back of course.

Or how about a repeat of BB4’s Cameron’s foreign exchange at 5/1?

Or maybe you fancy a flutter on who’ll be entertaining us in the BB house? For a pair of identical twins it’s 5/1, for a parrot to be given to the housemates it’s 10/1, if the aforementioned Susan Boyle manages to check herself out of The Priory you can back her at 12/1 to turn up in the house. Or maybe the House will be infiltrated by a member of Fathers For Justice at odds of 20/1.

No wonder Simon said he’s ‘knackered’. After a long week of Gold Teeth, Tap-Dancing Dogs and Flashing Boobies there are just 10 contestants left for the big final showdown of Britain’s Got Talent. And boy am I looking forward to it!

Last night little Hollie Street cried and pleaded her way to the final, alongside the imperious Aidan Davis to join Susan Boyle, Diversity, Flawless, Shaun Smith, Shaheen Jafargholi, Stavros Flately, Julian Smith and Two Grand on tonight’s showdown.

But who will win this year’s Britain’s Got Talent? Here’s a run down of the contenders and the latest betting odds;

Susan Boyle 6/5 (Skybet)

The ‘Hairy Angel’ may have wobbled in her semi-final but she recovered brilliantly to deliver another cracking performance. However, it appears that the predicted backlash has already begun. Her likeability factor is falling everytime I see her.

Verdict: At odds of 6/5 I’ll be looking elsewhere for some value

I just love this little guy. For me his performance last night was the most polished of the week. He has a great little attitude and a cheeky smile. I can see him following George Sampson’s footsteps and walking (or dancing) away with the top prize.

Verdict: A definite contender tonight.

I have to admit that he delivered big time in his semi-final but it still all feels a bit ’stage-school’ to me. He’s an undoubted talent and if he produces another big performance he could find himslef in the final reckoning.

Verdict: Close but no cigar

The nation have taken this father-and-son team to their heart. A win for this act would be victory for Dads up and down the country. Their semi-final was nowhere near as good as their audition but they sailed through to the final. The pubic are on their side and a good performance could push them right up there.

Verdict: I’d love to see them win but they’ll probably fall at the final hurdle.

There’s no denying these gus are quality but for me they lack the character and creativty of their main rivals, Diversity. There’s not much between the two acts and unfortunately for each of them they’re likely to split each other’s vote. Only a truly jaw-dropping performance can take them anywhere near winning tonight.

Verdict: Not even close

For me, the best of the two street dance acts in the final. But like Flawless they won’t get near winning I don’t think, which is a real shame because unlike the singers, who just sing other people’s songs, these guys have shown great creativity in their routines as wel as the ability to execute the on-stage.

Verdict: Sorry guys, it’s back to your day jobs

He seems to be a very likeable guy but I’ve no idea how good he actually is? I’m no saxaphone expert but he sounds and looks the real deal. Unfortunately for him there’s no history of any musicians getting close to winning BGT so don’t expect him to feature in the final 3.

Verdict: Well done for making the final

Oh dear, oh dear. Last night’s tear-fest left me cringing. Fair play to the little 10-year-old for getting back on stage after she crumbled under the pressure but I really don’t think she should have been put through to the final. This is Britain’s Got Talent, not Britains Got Sympathy.

Verdict: If the British public see through the tears she won’t be winning, but then again…

You know, I can’t even remember what he sang? He might have made the final but he didn’t make much of an impression with me. Still his good looks will account for a few girly votes. A good singer but would barely make the TV stages of the X Factor.

Verdict: Too run-of-the-mill to make an impact tonight

Sweet, maybe. But the best that Britain’s got to offer? Nowehere near it. It’s a nice story - Granda sings with his Grand Daughter, yada, yada, yada, but that’s as far as it goes. There were better acts that haven’t made the final. “When I say Britain, you say…”

Verdict: Stick to the Horlicks and bedtime stories

The only story in town this year has been that of Susan Boyle. The ‘Hairy Angel’ has found worldwide fame after a 2 minute stint in week 1 of BGT. Fans of the Scot include Demi Moore, Barack Obama and even the Queen - who’d have thought it eh? But will she get the public vote and scoop this year’s title? Who knows but there’s plenty of contenders after prize.

Here’s a breakdown of the runners and riders;

Susan Boyle 1/1 (Bet365, Paddy Power, Skybet)

Already a global star, the only worry she has is that the inevitable backlash doesn’t come before the final. Voters may get complacent, so her victory is not the foregone conclusion everyone thinks it is.

Verdict: In the first 2

WOW! What a performance he put on to be compared favourably to last year’s winner George Sampson. The self-taught dancer (in his bedroom no less!) has the cheeky smile to get the girly votes too.

Verdict: Watch out Susan!

He kinda reminds me of the guy out of the Commitments. Great voice and as Piers says “a great talent”. He was quite teary when he got four yesses so he’ll need to keep his emotions in check if he wants to proceed.

Verdict: Should make the final.

Was it a set up? Shaheen’s performance caused a stir when Simon stopped him and asked him to sing another song. He’s already been on telly and usually the public don’t really like that kinda thing.

Verdict: Ain’t gonna win.

Amazing voice. Piers reckons she’s a mini Beyonce and who are we to disagree. This little girl could win the hearts of the Great British public with the right song and another great performance or two.

Verdict: The dark-horse of the competition

It’s not usually a compliment when you’re compared to MIck Hucknall but this guy has a cracking voice. He’s a rugby playing hunk too, so he’s another who’ll get more than his fair share of female votes.

Verdict: With the right song he could make the final.

Just when you thought you’d enough of the street dancers, these guys came along and blew us away. Amanda reckons they’re “the best of the bunch” and they could be the dance troupe that will make the final this year.

Verdict: Plucky finalists

This guy offers something a little different and almost single-handedly is making the saxaphone cool again. He’s got a good back-story that endears him to the public too. Hopefully he won’t be busking for much longer.

Verdict: With a good semi draw he’ll bag a final place.

Needs to concentrate on the singing rather than the ballet. The judges loved her but we’ve seen lots of sweet young kids come and go on BGT. She’s a good singer but there’s better in the competition.

Verdict: Out in the semis

She ditched her pal for a shot at glory and who can blame. She’s young, talented and pretty - I hate her! She has buckets of talent and knows her way round that violin. She could do as well as Escala last year.

Verdict: Finalist

Oh please let them win. Please? The father and son team gave us the best performance of the auditions I think but sadly there’s nowhere for them to take their one-trick-pony act. Or is there.

Verdict: Watch this space

When I say “DJ”, You say “Talent”. You gotta love DJ Talent. Idiotic. Funny. Ironic, Moronic. But somehow the judges put him through. I’m not sure if he knows we’re laughing at him, not with him.

With less than 3 weeks to go till the biggest cheese-fest on TV Norway have emerged as the early favourites to win this year’s Eurovision but can the UK finish higher this year with musical genius Andrew Lloyd Webber behind them? If he can’t do it then nobody can!

It’s a bit early to get too excited about Eurovision but Norway are obviously doing something right. It might pay to put some money pn the even at this early stage. 33/1 on the UK looks good odds and if nothing else will give you something to shout about on the night. I’m keep my money in my purse at the moment so watch out for my tips nearer the big night.

Young Shaheen Jafargholi’s performance may have felt a little staged on Saturday night but that hasn’t stopped punters from backing the 12-year-old to rival overnight sensation Susan Boyle for this year’s Britain’s Got Talent title.

The youngster has been installed as second favourite after week two at odds of 3/1 (Skybet, Ladbrokes) and the bookies think he could be in with a shout.

Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg, said: “We’d resigned ourselves to this year’s series being a one-horse race. But Shaheen has changed all of that and punters can’t get enough of him.

“He’s been backed to the hilt, especially in Wales, and if it continues Susan’s favouritism could come under threat.”

As if to back-up the accusations of a set-up Shaheen responded to the suggestions in the Daily Mirror saying: “I was told to bring a second choice with me so I had practised both songs really hard.”

Sounds well dodgy to me and it seems the public agree over at the Daily Contributor and the Daily Mirror. This can only count against him I think and Susan Boyle is still the one we’re backing here at BetDiva Towers even though her odds are now only 4/9 (Skybet - click here to open your account).

You won’t be surprised then that Paddy Power and Skybet make her the early series favourite to be crowned winner of the talent show at odds of 2/1! What?!? 2/1? We’ve hardly even seen a handful of acts.

But never mind she’s destined to become a megastar, after all Paddy Power reckon she’s just 1/3 to get a recording deal from Simon Cowell and just 20/1 to be number one at Christmas this year. She’s even made the news stateside too as well as featuring on our new favourite blog over at UnrealityTV.

Of the other early contenders, Flawless are 5/1 (Paddy Power). They were good but I’ve kinda had enough of these group dance acts with no originality. But one dance act I did love were father and son team Stavros Flately who lampooned the Riverdance big’head. They’re 8/1 (Skybet) to win the competition but unfortunately I think they’re a one-performance act and will struggle to repeat Saturday’s surprise routine.

The bookies are also offering odds on some real no-hopers. Good Evans were more like the Adams Family than the Partridge family to me and it’s 20/1 (Skybet) that they win, with or without maw and paw. And as for that floozie Fabia (or should it be Flabia) Cerra it’s no wonder she’s 100/1 (Skybet). I’m no prude but who wants to see that prancing about on stage with her bits out any more than once. Put them away doll!

My advice at the moment woud be to keep your money in your purse until we see the other contenders emerge from the freak weeks.

It’s a reality TV bonanza this week with the new series of Hell’s Kitchen starting on our screens tonight.  It’s a sexy looking line-up with Gary Lineker’s squeeze Danielle Bux providing this year’s totty. Nice. Former Young One Ade Edmunson will be proviing the laughs and will former Liverpool goalie Bruce Grobellaar prove to be a butter-fingers in the kitchen?

I’ll be honest, there’s a few people in there that I’ve never heard of and as far Anthea and Grant - I wish I’d never heard of them.

It’s a bit early to say but I think a good early bet could be domestic goddess Anthea Turner. A £10 bet at William Hill would pocket £110 at William Hill. Result.

Obamamania continues to sweep the States whilst the new president enjoys his prolonged honeymoon period.
